Online UPS protection is provided in the System rack.


The UPS supply has been wired to protect the mains components, crucial to the safe state of the ProTools session and not to maintain audio input. In the event of a unscheduled power outage, the Digidesign cards, SSL interface and hard drives will all remain powered for up to 20 minutes. This allows time to save the session and avoid any drive or CPU crashes.


The system CPU (Macbook Pro) will automatically use it’s internal battery in a power failure.


The UPS is a Full Online system, constantly supplying a clean and stable voltage to the key system components and is not the cheaper, switching versions which can cause minute failures in power when they switch over from Mains voltage to UPS.


The UPS can be monitored by software via USB on the Macbook Pro
